What’s New in DMSContainer 4.2.x
- âš¡ New in 4.1.22! Support for Azure GraphAPI for email sending. Now it is possibile to send emails using SMTP or Azure GraphAPI.
- âš¡ New in 4.1.22! Stored Reports. Clients can decided to use a report version stored in the server, and don’t provide a template in the request. This new feature allows to centralize reports and avoid clients to bring report templates in their deploy. Check the report sample for more information.
- âš¡ New in 4.1.22! CLI “createreport” - very useful to create batch reports from command line
- 🛠Improved in 4.1.22! Support for virtual machines which change MAC address at each startup. Now license count doesn’t depend by MAC address.
- 🛠Improved in 4.1.22! Variables Expansion available also for shell jobs
- 🛠Improved in 4.1.22! New configuration property for shell job:
shell_job_timeout_in_seconds. It allows to define a max running time for a job. If not defined, by default shell_job_timeout_in_seconds is 7200 seconds (2 hours).
- DMSContainer Setup is able to do UPGRADE if another instance is found
- Upgrade can launched from commmand line in SILENT mode (only progress bar) or /VERYSILENT (no UI) mode
- To launch un upgrade in silent mode use
dmscontainer_<version>_setup.exe /SILENT
- To launch un upgrade in very silent mode use
dmscontainer_<version>_setup.exe /VERYSILENT
- New config key
ShellJobTimeout. This is the timeout in seconds for the ShellJob execution, by default is 300 seconds (5 minutes).
- The export functionality to PDF has been upgraded to version 1.7. Additionally, tagged PDFs are now generated by default during the export process, resulting in improved accessibility of the PDF files.
- EmailModule by default generates PDF v1.7 in case of templated PDF attachments
- ReportModule now generates PDF v1.7 by default, moreover using “format” parameter Report module allows to generate different PDF version/type:
- pdf –> generates PDF V1.7
- pdf15 –> generates PDF V1.5
- pdf16 –> generates PDF V1.6
- pdf17 –> generates PDF V1.7
- pdfa1 –> generates PDF/A-1 (ISO 19005-1:2005)
- pdfa2 –> generates PDF/A-2 (ISO 19005-2:2011)

What’s New in the 4.0.x branch (cumulative up to the latest version)
DMSContainer 4.0.x includes many new features, improvements, optimizations and bugfixes. The working release notes are the following.
- âš¡ New! EventStreams module which allows to easily create powerful messaging systems using the publish/subscribe integration pattern (support for max queue size, queue ttl and custom ttl for message);
- âš¡ New! Web Administration Console;
- âš¡ New! Proxy generators for Javascript/TypeScript and Python, in addition to the Delphi one;
- âš¡ New! Email Module is now an “Events Source”. It means that now any email status change produces a new event. Any sent email procedures an event in the queue
jobs.queues.email.sent while any email in error state (e.g. wrong SMTP server address) produce an email in the queue jobs.queues.email.error;
- âš¡ New! The Report Module can generate report asynchronously and for each report state change produces a event in specific queues. In case of asynch reports the Report Module acts as “Events Source”;
- âš¡ New! Auth and Event Streams module are now internal module (no bpl is released for them). The Auth module cannot be disabled while EventStreams can be disabled using the main configuration file
